The Dallas Police Department confirmed the tragedyin a statement on their websiteand said that Emmett was shot as he was running away from two unidentified men following “an altercation” in front of his Texas home. Witnesses told police that both suspects were male — one who was described as a tall, thin, black male in a red hat — and that they fled the scene in a white Chrysler 300....

A Nebraska man accused of groping former U.S. Sen. Martha McSally is now in custody, ending a two-day search for her alleged assailant. In avideo posted to Facebookon Wednesday afternoon, McSally, 57, revealed that she had just been sexually assaulted while running through River’s Edge Park in Council Bluffs. She was passing through the area for a speaking engagement in Omaha. Council Bluffs Police Department Explaining the incident and acknowledging that she was “still in an adrenaline state,” McSally said, “A man came up behind me and he engulfed me in a bear hug, and he molested and fondled me until I fought him off....

No bail information was immediately available. Though authorities initially charged Leisek with two counts of rape, a probable cause affidavit released on Jan. 10 shows that one of the charges has been dropped and the date of an alleged encounter has been changed. The second alleged rape, which supposedly occurred at a grandparent’s house, has also been removed from the updated documents....
