90 Day Fiancé’sYara Zayais getting candid about the insecurities she’s had with her body for most of her life.

“For me, it’s cultural,” the 28-year-old explained. “My parents, for example, always, always compare me to be somebody different. You need to be perfect. Growing up, my mom, for example, taught me that my nose wasn’t so good. Or they tell me I’m chunky or something like that.”

“It’s just hard,” she continued, fighting back tears. “But then I grew up and still think sometimes if I gain two extra pounds then I’m chunky, like, that’s just something I cannot freaking cut off.”

Zaya then explained that her husbandJovi Dufren“tries to be understanding but he cannot.”

“He’s really secure about himself,” she added.

Zaya’s castmateMolly Hopkinsthen chimed in urging her to give herself grace when it comes to body image and body positivity.

“Thank you so much,” Zaya replied.

Back in 2021, during the season 8 tell-all for 90 Day Fiancé, Zaya opened up about her body image and feeling comfortable with turning to plastic surgery in order to learn to love herself.

“I don’t see anything wrong with that. If somebody doesn’t like something on themselves, change it. Yes, you need to love yourself the way you are. But if you can’t accept something, it’s OK to change it,” she said at the time. “We are living in 2021, and if you wanna do something, do it.”

“I had an issue, like, my nose is potato. So let me do something to that,” she continued. “Four years ago, I was doing my lips too. And again, how I say, there is nothing wrong with surgery if you don’t like something and accept it on yourself. I was not accepting myself when I looked in the mirror, and I had to fix the situation.”
