As with all American Horror Story season , Freak Show is finally hitting its “ What the hell is this ? I do n’t even … ” peak , in which the show no longer exists as an actual form of serialized television system , but rather a collection of weird / entertaining instant .
Last Nox ’s episode had a circle of very rewarding moment , but they were moments that are n’t really go to assist thread together this hodgepodge of random scene and characters . These moments were simply things that befall . somewhat scarey thing , uncanny things or bizarre things , but overall this serial continue to feel like it was write by a demented 7 - year - old spit out a bizarro wish tilt of upsetting idea . “ Lobster Boy should tattle , and then make the tall ma’am fight the adult guy . Add a floating head , and then let ’s have steak for dinner . ”
I just do n’t see how this show will ever be a cohesive introduction , and that ’s a shame because Michael Chiklis move the sin out of his Strong Man - centrical sequence , titled “ Test of Strength . ” GET IT ? You get it .
The sequence started with Lobster Boy springing the twins from Dandy ’s home , thus convey them out of that plot they were written into , allowing Dandy to remain in the characterization for some reason , and now giving the twins purchase . They in crook use this leverage to get a unexampled hair style . I fucking bed this new hair . I ’m not even kid around ; this was my favourite scene . I ’m glad Bette is receive her moment in the sun , or under the whisker drier or whatever .
But of course this is all a show to hold Bette whilst Dot continues her obsession with get the “ twin breakup surgery , ” a ridiculous pipework dream . pool stick two scenes where Elsa and Dot speak to each other via bleak and white float head stock split blind . I ’m sure this was some sort of homage to a horror movie from the past ( maybe something from The Twilight Zone ) as most things this series are ( we ’ve already spotted American Psycho and Halloween in this season alone ) , but honestly it just felt like shtick for shtick interest . And it ’s a bit odd to pass the Twin all the room to Dandy ’s house just to take them back with leveraging . But here they are , back at the the Freak Show .
The substantial meat of this episode was Del. This would be his big character reveal mo as he ’s forced to be the Strong execution Man for Stanley . You see , Stanley discovers Dell ’s bad secret and threatens to advertize him out of the water closet unless he bump off somebody for Stanley ’s grown museum of oddities payroll check . And Dell is just a sad colossal failure at hard arming any of the freak into death . He in reality goes after Amazon Eve first and she pronto kicks his ass . It ’s howling , 2d favorite scene of the night .
After a pathetic personnel casualty , Dell plough to his boy ; perhaps he ’ll murder his Logos . Also , pause break for all the freak basically enjoin Jimmy NOT to release Dell in to the pig because they may polish off Dell like they murdered Meep . Seriously ? WHO CARES ? He attempt to kill Eve . Let the cops wipe out him . But alas , the freaks have spoken and they will deal with Dell the only elbow room they bang how , poorly .
So Dell and Jimmy go drinking and instead of killing Jimmy , Dell allow in he ’s his father , razzing - hoo . They blazon out and then sing a little bit . As you could see , the Strong Man is really very unaccented when it comes to killing anyone , but passing secure at wear the hands of doctors who then kill themselves also for unidentified ground . So what does he do ? The lowest thing he can recollect of : he kills Ma Petite . The pathos was not lose on me because American Horror Story delivered this “ oh the firm valet blame on the weakest because he is fallible ” moment like a mallet to the face . And it suck up . After last workweek ’s scourge to vote out Ma Petite , this just feel rotten . This death matte up unearned , random . True it work for Dell ’s cowardliness , but now we ’ve had to watch Ma Petite buy the farm double and almost die another time before it . I ’m emotionally tapped out on revulsion for Ma Petitie dying , but full up on “ fuck you . ” This slaughter just felt lousy .
Another horrifying / interesting moment in this baffling collection of actions and Song , Paul ’s girlfriend was horribly violated by her own father . He turned her into a “ freak ” by paying some guy to tattoo her face and pitchfork her tongue . Now she ’s the lounge lizard lady . That was truly , really , truly dread and perfectly devoid of any sort of human emotion whatsoever because I ’m sorry AHS , but I have no interest in this role I ca n’t name . But tattooing someone ’s face and cutting up their knife against their will while they are asleep is really awful . You got me there !
Who know where this serial will swing to next ? attend like Dandy will have to deal with killing Patti LaBelle next week when her character ’s daughter comes home , because we ’re all really indue in this random character catch justness ? Sigh .
