Anne Rice is famous the world over as the writer of Interview With the Vampire and the other novel in her best - selling Vampire Chronicles serial , the gothic , wild-eyed vampire population she ’s been build out since the 1970s . Now , Paramount TV and Anonymous Content have optioned all 11 of them ( ! ) to use as the basis of a fresh TV series .
Rice will be one of the show ’s executive producer and her son , Christopher Rice , will be the serial ’ primary author and showrunner . It ’s a project the pairhave been work on on for some timebut , with the right now settled , thing can move toward product and eventually air .

There ’s no word on which specific books were optioned or how previously adjust novel like Interview with the Vampire and Queen of the Dammed could fit in . But , for sports fan of Rice ’s workplace , seeing the epical story of Lestat play out on TV — with way to cover entire centuries , should the show show popular enough — is probably the good choice .
