In April , The Living Desert Zoobecame home to four babe fennec foxes – three males and one female . The world at last bewilder a coup d’oeil of them this week , when they were featured byThe Desert Sun .
Fennec foxes ( Vulpes zerda ) are native to the Sahara Desert and are typically nocturnal , which makes sense for such a diminutive mammal . Being combat-ready at Nox lowers their chances of go in the jaws of a massive marauder . With the possible exception of some abnormally lilliputian domestic dogs ( which are the result of stilted selection ) , the Fennec fox is the smallest canid species in the man .
If you live in southern California , these foxes are just a short drive away in Palm Desert . route trip , anyone ?
