Cardi BandOffsetmay be “working things out,” but the rapper has made it clear that was her decision — and hers alone.
In anew interview withHarper’s Bazaarfor their March issue, the “Money” rapper opened up about her choice to leave her husband late last year.
“I decided on my own,” she says. “Nobody makes my decisions about my life but me. I didn’t want to go to marriage counseling. He suggested it, but it’s like, ‘I don’t want to go.’ There’s no counselor or nothing that could make me change my mind.”
After the pair split in early December amid rumors ofthe Migos star’s infidelity, fans began to speculate about who Cardi’s next love connection would be. It turns out she wasn’t exactly looking to jump into a new relationship.
“If you think Imma automatically hop onto you after a marriage, that just means you think I’m a sleaze. And I’m not. I have a kid — I have to show an example…Just because I’m out there and very sexual doesn’t mean that I have to be whorish,” she explains.
“I like to have sex. That doesn’t mean I have to have it with everybody. Not that I judge women who want to have sex with the world.”

Despite her roller coaster year — her surprise marriage to Offset,the birth of their daughter Kulture Kiari,their sudden split, reconciliation anda load of Grammy noms— the 26-year-old says she’s taking it all in stride.
“I feel like my life is a fairy tale and I’m a princess — rags to riches, people trying to sabotage. Before, I cared about everything — relationship, gossip,” she admits.
“Now I don’t feel like I have the time to please people. I don’t care about anything anymore—just my career and my kid. Well, I care about my career because of my money.”
A source recently told PEOPLE that Offset, 27, has been working overtime to win back his wife — including the time he crashed her concert to offer heran emotional apology and $15,000 worth of flowers.
“He has been pursuing her hard and trying to convince her to get back together with him since the day they split,” the source said before adding that Offset has “promised” Cardi he “will behave” going forward.
While in Atlanta on Friday, Cardiopened up PEOPLEabouttheir breakupand recent reconciliation, saying her relationship with Offset is “a personal thing.”
