Harry took Meghan to Botswana on one of their early dates. Speaking to the BBC in their first joint interview following their engagement, Harry said, “I managed to persuade her to come and join me in Botswana. We camped out with each other under the stars. She came and joined me for five days out there, which was absolutely fantastic.”

“They were very discreet,” local Julie Lilanda told PEOPLE, noting of the scenic spot, “We have a lot of whales and the Northern Lights in Tromvik, which is perfect for tourists to see.”

The couplevisited the Caribbean in March 2017 to witness the weddingof Tom “Skippy” Inskip and literary agent Lara Hughes-Young. Inskip and Harry are childhood friends —they met at Eton and Inskip is popularly said to have been Harry’s “wingman” on boisterous evenings out during their younger days.

Despite reports that the newlyweds headed toCanadaorNamibiafor their wedding, their post-wedding vacation has remained a mystery.

Prince Harrywas perfectly relaxed as he chatted with to young leaders from around the world ata palace partyin June, but he still had his guard up when it came to the location of their getaway.

When Mavis Elias, a young philanthropist from Namibia, asked Harry if he could confirm that he and Meghan had headed to her African country, ashad been widely reported, he told her “No, we didn’t go to Namibia.”
