Dakota Johnsonhas been here before.
On Wednesday, Sony Pictures released the first trailer for its upcoming superhero movieMadame Web, which stars Johnson, 34, as a New York City paramedic named Cassandra Webb who begins seeing the future — and holds a startling personal connection to a mysterious company ofSpider-Man-related characters.
The trailer, set to Billie Eilish’s hit song “bury a friend,” meets Cassandra as she attempts to protect a trio of teenagers (includingSydney Sweeney) from a masked villain who looks suspiciously like Spider-Man. When the villain stabs Cassandra with a knife, she is brought back to the beginning of the encounter.

The teenagers and Cassandra all realize they are connected to each other and that Ezekiel can see the future himself, as they try to prevent him from destroying a future in which the teens also seem to grow into spider-related super powers.

“Madame Webtells the standalone origin story of one of Marvel publishing’s most enigmatic heroines,” the synopsis reads. “Forced to confront revelations about her past, [Casandra] forges a relationship with three young women destined for powerful futures…if they can all survive a deadly present.”

It was announced that Sweeney and Johnson wouldcostar in the movieback in March 2022. Johnson was previouslyseen filming scenes in a paramedic uniformin Boston during an August 2022 shoot for the movie.
