At the end of the night,Green Booktook home the AARP’s award for best movie of the year. (The movie also won the award for best motion picture, musical or comedy at theGolden Globesin January.)
During the evening, Mortensen and his son were seen mingling with other celebrity guests — including Mortensen’sGreen Bookcostar Linda Cardellini and basketball starKareem Abdul-Jabbar.

In November, Mortensen apologized afterusing the n-wordafter a screening ofGreen Book.
