io9 : How do you feel about the westerly hold of Godzilla after everything you ’ve experienced withMinus Onethis retiring yr ?
Yamakazi : I finger very full about the Western appreciation of Godzilla in general . I think Godzilla , and what we were able to do withGodzilla Minus One , really demonstrate that there are so many layer , and that there ’s thematic depth that we can to a Kaiju moving picture — I think that gave older generations something to think about , a cerebral essence construct , but I think that extends to household as well , traverse contemporaries . io9 : Is there anything you would ’ve done differently with an American budget ?
Yamakazi : It ’s really tough to front back on a film that ’s everlasting and say “ Oh I like I could ’ve done this or that differently , ” if only because within the constraints that we had , everyone really brought their A - biz . I do n’t need a Hollywood budget , but if we had more , there were things that perhaps would ’ve made the workings surround and conditions lean better . There were different thing we could ’ve done , minor things that made it slimly unlike . But I would n’t go back into the film and say “ Hey , I could ’ve change this or do that otherwise . ” I call up we did our ripe , the best that we could … that say if there wasonething , I like we could ’ve take it in full resolution for IMAX !
io9 : One of the uncivilized things to come out of your Oscars appearing was you and your team ’s Godzilla claw heel shoe , which they now deal . How did they come about , and how do you feel about being a Kaiju fashion icon now ?

Yamakazi : The manufacturer on our moving-picture show had in reality mold with the steel and helped design something else on a dissimilar project , and said , “ Why do n’t we do this forGodzillaas well ? ” That was the initial inception of the entire undertaking . Yamakazi : To be frank , I ’ve seen Godzilla through many different ages .
