A JetBlue airplane tipped backward with its nose pointed upward after landing at JFK Airport on Sunday night, PEOPLE can confirm.
Video shared onsocial mediashowed the plane tilted backward with airport crew surrounding the passenger gate.
The flight arrived shortly before 8:30 p.m, perCBS New York.
“On Sunday, October 22, JetBlue flight 662 landed as scheduled at New York’s JFK Airport from Bridgetown, Barbados,” JetBlue spokesman Derek Dombrowski tells PEOPLE in a statement. “Once at the gate, due to a shift in weight and balance during deplaning, the tail of the aircraft tipped backward causing the nose of the aircraft to lift up and eventually return back down.
“No injuries were reported,” the statement continued. “Safety is JetBlue’s first priority; we are reviewing this incident, and the aircraft has been taken out of service for inspection.”
In February, the Federal Aviation Administration investigated a “close call” between aJetBlue plane and a Learjetat Boston Logan International Airport.

As it was about to touch down at the airport around 7 p.m., the JetBlue Embraer 190 was forced to execute a “go around” when the Learjet took off without permission from air traffic control, according to the FAA.

The FAA statement added, “An air traffic controller instructed the pilot of the Learjet to line up and wait on Runway 9 while the JetBlue Embraer 190 landed on Runway 4-Right, which intersects Runway 9. The Learjet pilot read back the instructions clearly but began a takeoff roll instead. The pilot of the JetBlue aircraft took evasive action and initiated a climb-out as the Learjet crossed the intersection.”
According to FlightAware, the flight originated in Nashville and the plane landed safely, the airline told PEOPLE.
“Safety is JetBlue’s first priority and our crews are trained to react to situations like this,” the airline said. “We will assist authorities as they investigate this incident, and further inquiries should be directed to them.”
