Sam Waterstonis exitingLaw & Order, and an actor with presidential bona fides is joining the series moving forward.
NBC announced on Friday thatScandalalumTony Goldwynwill be joining the long-running crime drama as its beloved star steps away from the series after 30 years and more than 400 episodes in character.
Waterston, 83, portrayed iconic District Attorney Jack McCoy from the NBC procedural’s fifths season in 1994 through its initial cancellation in 2010. His final episode will air on Feb. 22.
